Into Plein Air

In this video series master painter Dallyn Zundel paints on location in Utah's Wasatch Mountains en plein air. Plein air painting became very popular in the 19th Century during the impressionism movement and is now becoming popular again amongst serious artists and enthusiasts. Some of what Dallyn talks about is selecting a location, using a limited pallet, and working from general to specific. Watch as he paints “direct” and the scene comes alive before your eyes.
